NEW mobil und aktiv Mönchengladbach GmbH provides punctual and reliable local public transport in the Lower Rhine region of Mönchengladbach and Viersen. The depot of the Mönchengladbacher Verkehrsbetriebe transport services company is located on the Rheinstraße. This is where all 211 buses are serviced, maintained and prepared for everyday regular service. After the bus fleet has been provisioned, they are made available for the next day in garages. Each garage parking space is connected to a parking space recording system. This enables the dispatcher in the control centre to identify each bus at any time and deploy it accordingly. Group leader Bernd Hermanns is responsible for the technical depot management and the vehicle provisioning such as washing, refuelling and checking. Buses with defects are immediately driven to the workshop, where a team immediately begins repair work so that all vehicles can be put back into service early the following morning.
Every day all buses are driven through the bus washes, cleaned and provisioned. The enormous wash bay building is large enough to comfortably accommodate two commercial vehicle washing facilities of the Augsburg-based world market leader in vehicle washing systems. The double gantry system MaxiWash Vario Tandem is exactly the right choice when large, homogeneous exterior surfaces need to be cleaned perfectly and quickly. At the Mönchengladbach transport depot, two twelve-metre buses can now be washed simultaneously within two and a half minutes! The moving spectacle fascinates onlookers when the almost five metre high and 2.90 metre wide gantries at both WashTec terminals start at the touch of a button. Eight side brushes and four roof brushes then begin to rotate almost simultaneously, four gantries move up, the washing water hisses out of the nozzles with great force to clean the dirty vehicle surfaces. There is no more convenient way to wash buses than with the technical constellation of the Mönchengladbach company. In addition, the high cleaning speed and the cleaning results of the system are convincing. The Mönchengladbach company decided to do business with WashTec years ago. The reasons for this include the efficiency of the brush wash, the reliable system operation and the WashTec customer service, which has been tried and tested over many years.
Perfect cleaning results require the use of high-quality and efficient washing chemical substances that harmonise well with the washing technology. Washing chemicals that have been developed and tested on the basis of chemical formulas until they are ready for production. High-performance washing chemicals that provide convincing cleaning for the NEW buses. WashTec subsidiary AUWA developed these high-performance products, which are fine-tuned in both MaxiWash Vario Tandem gantries and deliver consistently convincing washing results. Products that also require less fresh water and have environmentally friendly qualities because they are completely free of nitrilotriacetic acid and hydrofluoric acid. The wheel washers of both MaxiWash Vario Tandem also wash with wheel rim power foam. The chemicals form a voluminous foam and optimally pre-clean the wheel rims of the buses.
NEW mobil und aktiv Mönchengladbach GmbH operates a third vehicle washing facility just a few steps from the "Bus-Wash-Arena". The 2.60 metre high white gantry is also made by WashTec. It is exactly the right system for all other company vehicles such as cars or service vans of different heights. The SoftCare² system washes vehicles with a maximum width of a good two metres and a maximum length of five metres in a bay designed as a head-end station – forwards in, backwards out. Between entry and exit there is about seven and a half minutes of thorough vehicle washing and care, with spectacular results. This means that NEW mobil und aktiv GmbH in Mönchengladbach is firmly in WashTec's hands.
